Motown Museum – Motown Record Corporation, known as simply Motown, originated in Detroit, Michigan. The black-owned, black-centered record label changed music all over the world. The upbeat, rhythm and blues inspired music brought out artists like The Temptations, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye and the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Motown Record Corporation was founded and owned by Berry Gordy.

Detroit Institute of Arts – The Detroit Institute of Arts, DIA for short, is located in Midtown Detroit, and it has one of the largest and most significant collections of art in the US. The Institute has more than 100 galleries and more than 65,000 pieces of art work dating from the earliest civilizations to the present day from areas all over the world.

Detroit Historical Museum – Detroit Historical Museum is a great way to learn more about the city of Detroit. It is located in the Cultural Center Historic District in Midtown Detroit right next to Detroit Institute of Arts. The Museum chronicles the history of the area from cobblestone streets, to factory assembly lines, toy trains and fur trading and much more.

Comerica Park – Comerica Park is a baseball park located in downtown Detroit and it’s the home arena for Detroit Tigers. It is possible to come here not only for a baseball game, but also for tours. The arena sometimes also hosts concerts. Tours here are an hour and a half long and include different areas that are off-limits to most people during the games.

Cliff Bell’s – Cliff Bell’s is a jazz club and restaurant found in Detroit. The jazz club first opened in 1935 and notable artists such as Marcus Miller have performed here in the past. Coming here to eat is an experience into the past, although the venue was renovated in 2006, and it sometimes comes with live jazz music.

SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium General Admission

SEA Life Michigan is located at the outskirts of Detroit approximately 35 mi/56 km from downtown the city’s downtown area. This general admissions ticket allows entry to the magnificent world of the underwater.

SEA Life Michigan has more than 2,000 creatures from over 250 species divided into 12 different exhibitions including sharks, turtles, stingrays and many more.

The exhibitions range from the Michigan freshwater lakes to the depths of the oceans.

The Interactive Touchpool allows for visitors to experience what it feels like to pet a crab, urchin, sea star, or other rockpool creatures. Visitors can also stroll through the underwater Ocean Tunnel while thousands of tropical fish swim around overhead.

The ticket is valid for one day.

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan

Discover some of the joys of LEGO at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan. Here you can learn how the LEGO bricks are made into a wide range of shapes and colors, jump aboard a royal chariot to save the princess, and discover insider tips and tricks from an expert LEGO builder.

Visitors can explore a variety of different exhibitions and areas at the Center, including watching a LEGO Movie™ at the 4D LEGO Cinema, the Merlin’s Apprentice Ride, LEGO Friends Heartlake City and LEGO Build & Test.

MINILAND is the Detroit skyscape built entirely out of more than 1.5 million LEGO Bricks.

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan is located in the same area as SEA Life.

Detroit: Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Entry & Guided Tour

The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is Ford Motor Company’s first purpose-built factory and the birthplace of the Model T car, the world’s first mass produced car. The Plant is a National Historic Landmark recognized as one of the most significant automotive heritage sites in the world.

The entry ticket includes the access to the facilities as well as a 90-minute guided factory tour that will begin with a documentary about the early automotive industry. This will be followed by a visit through the three floors of the old Ford factory, and a visit to the “Secret Experimental Room” only select employees had access to at the time. See where Model T was designed and created, the famous car itself, as well as a variety of cars converted for various tasks and industries.

During the tour participants will also learn how cars were built here in Detroit during the early 1900s.
